Description

Within this archive, there are some 426 audio files recorded in two different voices, "Gruff" and "KK". Please feel free to use this audio as you see fit according to the license and disclamer above.

The recorded phrases were some that I brainstormed that might be used by the main character of a video game as he adventures. It's obviously not comprehensive, because how could I possibly imagine what the character in your game needs?! Regarding your needs, there are two things I'd like to convey:

First, these files are all mp3 audio. They're pretty good quality and it probably won't hurt you to just drop them into a game or a performance or whatever. But they are pre-rendered with some effects (a slight reverb), and maybe you don't want that. Maybe you'd prefer the raw wav recording. I have that! You should get in contact and we can talk about it; I'll warn you in advance, there may be some minor cost involved.

Second, there is almost certainly something that you're missing for your needs or isn't voiced in the right way for your use. Don't panic! As of writing this, my voice and recording studio both still function! Huzzah! Just get in contact and we'll talk about what you need; I'll warn you in advance again, there may be some minor cost involved.

The Recording

If you were looking for high-end output, I will warn you: I recorded all of these in one shot over the course of a half hour session. I did extremely minimal filtering and effects on them. Yes, the "KK" voice and the "Gruff" voice are both just me, riffing. There's no pitch processing. There could be, but there isn't. There was extremely little thought about how to voice the "script"; I just stood at the mic and did it. The point is, I can definitely do better than this thing I did for free.

Finally, I really hope you enjoy the clips. It was fun to voice! I know it's technically not required, but I would love to hear from you if you use the audio and learn about where my voice might appear. Even if you just listen to my performance, I'd love to get your impression.
